The Indispensable Resource for Stewardship Professionals
Investor stewardship has become a vital aspect of responsible investment, focusing on how investors engage with companies to promote long-term value creation and sustainable practices. As a powerful, emerging discipline, investment specialists and asset managers alike today apply the tools and instruments of stewardship. By using stewardship practices, they enhance the value of their portfolios, mitigate systemic risks, fulfil fiduciary duties, drive positive corporate change, act on sustainability risks and opportunities and align with regulatory expectations.
At the same time, asset owners, together with a rising numbers of regulators, evaluate asset managers on their stewardship practices through various frameworks and criteria assessing their commitment to responsible investment and active ownership.
While codes of stewardship best practice exist, the stewardship discipline now requires essential features of a profession: an accepted, rigorous framework to define the necessary recognized professional qualifications and skills; and a common platform for information sharing on stewardship jobs, remuneration tracks, and career paths.
