Accounting fraud expert/ accounting expert

Dr Carola Rinker holds a degree in economics and is a balance sheet expert. She was an expert witness in the Bundestag's committee of enquiry into the Wirecard scandal and an expert witness in the reform of the FISG. The accounting expert is a sought-after interviewee on the subject of accounting scandals and is known to many from interviews in the national and international press (including the New York Times, NZZ, ARD, ZDF info, CNBC).

Carola Rinker not only trains the Federal Criminal Police Office on the subject of uncovering accounting fraud, but also teaches investors and supervisory board members how to read balance sheets. She has already published several specialised books and regularly reports on her FINANCE blog ‘Abgeschminkt’ about accounting cosmetics and uncovered accounting scandals.

The economist is not only a supervisory board member herself, but also represents small shareholders at annual general meetings on behalf of the Schutzgemeinschaft der Kapitalanleger (SdK e.V.). For example, she represents the SdK at the Annual General Meeting of Grenke AG, where there were accusations of alleged balance sheet manipulation by short-seller Fraser Perring in autumn 2020. She regularly answers questions about which balance sheet items investors should take a closer look at on the SdK YouTube channel.
